Red Dot Award for "Concept R"
On 1st July 2013, the sentiotec sauna heater „Concept R“ was awarded with the red dot award, having been judged by 4.662 entries in 19 different categories, at the red dot gala in Essen. By receiving this international award, sentiotec GmbH has proven, that besides product functionality, it offers quality design at the highest level.
1.865 companies, designers and architects from 54 countries submitted their current designs in order to receive the renowned red dot quality seal. Prof. Dr. Peter Zec, initiator and CEO of the red dot, has pointed out that strong design competence and economic success nowadays go hand in hand: “The winners of the ‘red dot award: product design 2013’ are the protagonists of a highly developed design culture and design industry. These days it is becoming more and more difficult to distinguish between well-designed products. It is often only in the details that the special qualities become apparent. However, those product creations that pass the test before the critical eyes of the international red dot jury will not disappear into the crowd and will be able to fend off global competition.”
With this outstanding and innovative design of sauna heater „Concept R“ – R for „round corners“ – sentiotec has developed a design product at a high technical level. With its four front panels planers of high level sauna facilities are able to place the heater in any position of a sauna room without having to consider all the necessary supply connections. The interior is also unique: The application of a 3-layer-technique and the optional wooden reeling offer maximum burn- and touch-protection.
Besides research and development, product design is of growing importance to the head company abatec group AG. „Concept R“ has been designed by Peter Groiss (design büro groiss peter),a highly acclaimed designer and long term partner of abatec. This is the second international design award the abatec group has received this year.
